SERVED FROM PHILADELPHIA’S LGBT SIDE OF THE TRACKS

Pa. Committee passes Anti Gay Marriage Amendment March 27, 2008

cake.jpg The bad guys just won’t stop…but you know what…neither will I. Out in Harrisburg, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed SB 1250, the Marriage Protection Amendment, March 18th in a 10-4 vote.

What do this mean to you and me? Marriage would be “protected” from including 2 women or 2 men. Marriage definition: MAN AND WOMAN and prohibition of future attempts to legalize civil unions.

It’s OK though…the bill will now go to the senate. Stacey Sobel, of Equality Advocates Pennsylvania, said she expects a vote before the summer recess.

Here’s where we can help. Super easy…go to Equality Advocates of Pennsylvania

and send their ready-made email opposing the ammendment…or edit it it make it your own.

This election season has shown me that the presidential candidates are taking the LGBT community more seriously as a large voting group…I’m not going to let the state government take me for granted either.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

I can’t say this enough. :) Marriage is a basic civil right that should be attainable by all Americans if they choose. For the truth about gay marriage check out our trailer. Produced to educate & defuse the controversy it has a way of opening closed minds & provides some sanity on the issue: http://www.OUTTAKEonline.com
