EdgePhiladelphia: Several high profile blog sites reported on Monday that John McCain’s chief of staff Mark Buse is a closeted gay man. According to reports, 46-year-old Brian Davis has come forward claiming he is Buse’s ex-boyfriend. Several other unidentified individuals, including two members of the Log Cabin Republicans, have also made claims Buse is gay. Both McCain and vice-presidential running mate Sarah Palin oppose equal marriage rights for gays and lesbians and are known for their openly stated anti-gay sentiments.
Bloggers Mike Rogers and Michelangelo Signorile reported on Monday that they have significant information that leads them to suspect McCain chief of staff Mark Buse is a closeted gay man. Signorile claims that over the past month he has been contacted by three unnamed persons who said Buse is homosexual. The unidentified sources, two of which claimed to be members of the Log Cabin Republicans, told Signorile that Buse was ’open’ about his sexuality to his friends and family, but otherwise closeted.
More recently, Signorile says he was contacted by 46-year-old Brian Davis, an Arizona resident who claims he had a romantic relationship with Buse. Signorile says this claim has been confirmed by Davis’ mother and a longtime friend. Davis stated that he met Buse in 1986 in a gay bar and provided Signorile with a video (below) allegedly showing Davis inside of Buse’s apartment in Washington in 2000.
BlogActive.com writer Mike Rogers also reported claims that Buse is gay on Monday. Rogers states that he received confirmation from two unidentified sources of Buse’s sexual orientation and past relationships with men. He also wrote on BlogActive.com that his main source said that Buse had attended a number of “gay parties,” including one held at Buse’s home. Based on the information he received, Rogers decided to present Buse with a “Roy Cohn Award” for “working against the interests of the lesbian and gay community while living as a gay man”.
Rogers visited Buse’s office on Friday to present McCain’s chief of staff with the “Roy Cohn Award” but was turned away. A video of Rogers attempt to gift Buse with the award can be seen here.

You should do a little fact checking.
Palin vetoed a ban that would have prevented gay rights for partnerships. So she may be against gay marriage, but she supports their domestic partnership rights. But I guess mentioning that little fact would have weakened your argument…
hostess: Hi Matt, thanks for your comment. A little advice…try not to be so condescending and people might listen to what you have to say…you wouldn’t just be trying to get free hits on a website would you?
From Andrew Sullivan and the Daily Dish: She opposes same-sex marriage, but she has stated that she has gay friends and is receptive to gay and lesbian concerns about discrimination. While the previous administration did not implement same-sex benefits, Palin complied with a state Supreme Court order and signed them into law. She disagreed with the Supreme Court ruling and supported a democratic advisory vote from the public on whether there should be a constitutional amendment on the matter. Alaska was one of the first U.S. states to pass a constitutional ban on gay marriage, in 1998, along with Hawaii. Palin has stated that she supported the 1998 constitutional amendment.
Palin’s first veto was used to block legislation that would have barred the state from granting benefits to the partners of gay state employees. In effect, her veto granted State of Alaska benefits to same-sex couples. The veto occurred after Palin consulted with Alaska’s attorney general on the constitutionality of the legislation.
Well at least there is more room in the closet now that Clay has come out.
